Crystal Planet on Ice

My first real experience with creating some level of a finished Photoshop wallpaper using abstract renders and filters. I started off with a number of lense flare effects, but when applying a very sharp plastic wrap filter I noticed how the much the flare spots began to take on the image of craters. Further experimentation developed this idea; I feel as though I'm looking down on an ancient planet that once has some kind of civilization enhabiting it, but the ravages of time and the cold bite of frost have rendered this world uninhabitable - a moment frozen hanging in the void. Anyways, enough philosophizing for now. Future plans for this early project include more experiementation with colour (making it seem colder and darker come to mind) as well as adding more depth through light sources and proper shading, which are not included in this early render. Please let me know what you think, I can easily see this as becomming a great creative outlet.
